National Technology and Engineering Seminar

National Technology and Engineering Seminar, organized by Faculty of Engineering UISU - Medan Indonesia

Science & Technology has not been optimum utilization of the needs of the community so that the low Iptek contribution in the field of production and development have not Iptek culture in the community because the pattern of thinking that people prefer to use rather than created. So that the National Seminar on Technology and Engineering was conducted to provide opportunities for academic and practitioner / researcher for shearing each other, share experiences, exchange thoughts and ideas on the development of Science & Technology.

The topic of the problems need to be submitted are:

Papers Full Paper submitted no later than the date 05 April 2009. Papers are to be passed to complete the abstract (no more than 100 words) and full papers and a maximum of 8 pages.
Presentation of the paper were given 30 minutes.

The 37th International Forestry Students’ Symposium (IFSS) 2009

International Forestry Students' Association (IFSA) as a global network for international students forestry aims enrich students' knowledge of forestry through formal education and increase international cooperation and networking among members as well as professional institutions.

IFSA Local Committee: Bogor Agricultural University (IFSA LC-IPB) and the University of Gadjahmada (IFSA LC-UGM), will be the the committee of 37th International Forestry Students' Symposium (IFSS) in 2009 with the theme of Forest Conservation: Balancing Utilization, Protection and preservation, in the 26 August - 9 September 2009. IFSA annual symposium is a follow-up from the previous symposium, the symposium has been held in various countries in the world. One hundred fifty participants from 64 local Committee of the estimated 48 countries will attend the IFSS this time.

This symposium will discuss issues of global forestry is now facing charges in the sustainable development of forests. The issues will be discussed in several different topics, including forestry policy, ekowisata, the incentive scheme for local communities around the forest, carbon trading, education and forestry. On this occasion will are also representatives from government, academia, NGOs, researchers, and other stakeholders. The 37th IFSS 2009 is expected to be one of the long-term business that terintregasi to maintain sustainable forests, especially tropical forests.
